Donje Selo, Srednje Selo
On the northwestern edge of the village Srednje selo there is a small settlement that has characteristic look found on the Dalmatian islands and the Mediterranean named Donje Selo. Traces of life in this area date to antique times, and in the area of the hill Gradina the walls of a rectangular building with a floor mosaic were found.
As Donje selo is located on the edge of the road that connects port Maslinica with the west of the island, and through it passes a rural road that leads to the beautiful bay Donja Krušica, the locals besides agriculture practiced fishing as well. Nowadays Donja Krušica is a little tourist place which every year counts more and more tourists.
Srednje Selo is situated along the road between Grohote and Donje selo. The smallest and nowadays the least populated place once was the home of the farmers, olive growers and winegrowers who farmed the land daily on Šoltan field that stretches beneath the village. Densely spaced stone houses and the abandoned old school tell the story about the old times when this place was highly populated.
